Our History
Serving Butler for over forty years.
Village Jewelry & Sports began in 1985 as Village Pawn & Jewelry, a small, family-run shop opened by The Jimerson Family in Butler, Alabama. What started as a humble pawn and jewelry operation quickly became a trusted community hub—known for honest service, quality products, and the Jimerson family’s unmatched commitment to their hometown.
Throughout the late ’80s and ’90s, the store continued to evolve. The business expanded beyond jewelry and pawn services, adding hunting gear, sporting goods, trophies, custom printing, and community-focused services that set the store apart in Choctaw County. As the needs of the community grew, so did the Village.
In 1995, the store had fully transformed into Village Jewelry & Sports, reflecting its wider range of offerings— fine jewelry, apparel, gifts, sports equipment, archery, outdoor gear, trophies, banners, hats, shirts, and custom designs for schools, small businesses, and local events.
All About Family
Even with all the growth, one thing never changed: Village has always been a family business built on relationships. Customers weren’t just shoppers—they were neighbors, friends, and generations of families who trusted Village for birthdays, holidays, weddings, school spirit, hunting season, and every big moment in between. Today, nearly 40 years later, Village Jewelry & Sports continues to thrive under the same family values it was founded on. What started as a dream is now a multi-generation legacy—serving Butler, Choctaw County and “out of town locals” with the same small-town heart, personalized service, and community pride that built the business in 1985. From jewelry cases and baseball bats to archery bows and custom tees, Village has grown with the community for four decades— and the story is still being written.
